มร.ซึงาตะ กล่าวว่า “ตลอดระยะเวลาที่ผ่านมา โตโยต้าได้ให้การสนับสนุนกีฬามอเตอร์สปอร์ตอย่างต่อเนื่อง อันเป็นการส่งเสริมพัฒนาการของนักแข่งและวงการยานยนต์ สำหรับประเทศไทย โตโยต้าได้พัฒนาวงการมอเตอร์สปอร์ตไทยมากว่า 30 ปี เริ่มด้วยการก่อตั้งทีมแข่ง Toyota Team Thailand ในปี พ.ศ. 2529 จากนั้นเริ่มจัดการแข่งขัน Toyota One Make Race เมื่อ พ.ศ. 2541ตามมาด้วยการก่อตั้ง Toyota Racing School ในปี พ.ศ. 2551ตลอดระยะเวลาที่ผ่านมา กิจกรรมโตโยต้า มอเตอร์สปอร์ต ประสบความสำเร็จ ได้รับการตอบรับเป็นอย่างดี มีผู้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมรวมทั้งสิ้นกว่า 5 ล้านคน ควบคู่ไปกับการเสริมสร้างพัฒนาการนักแข่ง จนได้เข้าร่วมรายการแข่งขันในระดับสากล”
มร.ซึงาตะ กล่าวเพิ่มเติมว่า “เมื่อมองถึงความสำเร็จของกิจกรรมมอเตอร์สปอร์ต ในประเทศไทย สามารถกล่าวได้ว่าบริษัทโตโยต้าในประเทศอาเซียนอื่นๆ ได้เริ่มต้นดำเนินตามแนวทางการจัดกิจกรรมของเรา อาทิ โตโยต้า มอเตอร์ ฟิลิปปินส์ เริ่มจัดการแข่งขัน วีออส คัพ วันเมคเรซ ในปี พ.ศ. 2557 ซึ่งผมในขณะนั้น ดำรงตำแหน่งกรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่ที่นั่น ยังได้เข้าร่วมแข่งขันในฐานะนักแข่งด้วยเช่นกัน ที่สำคัญ ในปีนี้ ประเทศมาเลเซีย กำลังจะมีการจัดการแข่งขันวันเมคเรซ ในชื่อของ VIOS Challenge อีกด้วย ซึ่งผมสามารถพูดได้อย่างภาคภูมิใจว่า ประเทศไทยเป็นต้นแบบของการจัดกิจกรรมมอเตอร์สปอร์ตในเอเชีย และแน่นอน ในอนาคต ผมฝันไว้ว่า สักวันหนึ่ง เราจะสามารถจัดการแข่งขัน Toyota Grand One Make Race ที่จะนำเอาแชมป์ของแต่ละประเทศมาแข่งขัน เพื่อเฟ้นหาสุดยอดนักแข่งของเอเชียได้ในที่สุด”

Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd. is the early pioneer of motorsports in Thailand since 1986. Throughout the years, we are firmly committed to levelling up Thai motorsports by cultivating high-caliber individuals, ranging from young drivers to professional racers, in order to provide them with unprecedented opportunities to gain fame to the nation. The effort has ultimately won Toyota an undisputed leading position of Thai motorsports.
Mr. Sugata stated, “Over the past years, Toyota has been deeply committed in supporting Thai motorsports in an attempt to develop the racers’ skills and the automotive industry. In Thailand, Toyota has endeavored the motorsport activities for over 30 years, starting with Toyota Team Thailand in 1986, then Toyota Motorsport One Make Race, and Toyota Racing School in 1998 and 2008 respectively. We are happy to generate a total of over 5 million of spectators over the years, along with producing professional racers who are able to advance their skills to the international level.”
Mr. Sugata added, “Looking at the tremendous success in Thailand, Toyota distributors in neighbouring Asian countries started to follow our activities. For example, Toyota Motor Philippines initiated its VIOS CUP One Make Race in 2014, where I also joined as a racer as well as President of the company. On top of that, Malaysia is also going to stage One Make Race this year in the name of VIOS Challenge. Now, I can proudly say that Thailand is a mother country of Toyota Motorsport for Asia, and my personal dream is to organize the Toyota Grand One Make Race where top racers from Asia compete and we decide the Champion of Asia someday in the future.”

Mr. Sugata added, “Looking at the tremendous success in Thailand, Toyota distributors in neighbouring Asian countries started to follow our activities. For example, Toyota Motor Philippines initiated its VIOS CUP One Make Race in 2014, where I also joined as a racer as well as President of the company. On top of that, Malaysia is also going to stage One Make Race this year in the name of VIOS Challenge. Now, I can proudly say that Thailand is a mother country of Toyota Motorsport for Asia, and my personal dream is to organize the Toyota Grand One Make Race where top racers from Asia compete and we decide the Champion of Asia someday in the future.”
