Bosch expands automotive product offering on Lazada in Thailand

Over 500 parts available on Thailand’s largest online shopping platform

Bangkok – Bosch, a leading supplier of automotive components and services for the aftermarket, has expanded its range of automotive products on Lazada, Thailand’s leading online shopping platform, to over 500 parts for Thai consumers. Quality lubricants, batteries, and battery chargers from Bosch are now available on Lazada, in addition to the five existing automotive categories of windshield wiper blades, light bulbs, car horns, oil filters, and spark plugs. Vehicle servicing packages will soon be available as well, where customers can simply present their pre-purchased e-vouchers at any of the 30 Bosch Car Service workshops nationwide to enjoy quality vehicle maintenance. Furthermore, the company has intensified its online presence by way of an official page on LINE, a leading communication and social networking mobile app.

According to the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA), Thailand’s e-commerce market size in 2017 will be worth 2.52 trillion baht, a 12.4% growth from 2016. A Bangkok-based technology consulting firm, Joyfulness Co’, predicts that Thailand will be the hub of e-commerce and e-payments among the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) by 2017.

“For Bosch, Lazada is a great additional platform that car drivers both in the cities and upcountry can access quality products at competitive prices,” said Mr. Kuldhaj Bunbongkarn, general manager of Bosch Automotive Aftermarket in Thailand. “We have strengthened our online footprint to be closer to our users through the popular app LINE. We also launched the Bosch Official Store on Lazada in March 2017 to complement and reinforce our retail channels. We are optimistic of achieving strong growth within our first year because of the combination of quality offerings with the increasingly popular, efficient, and trusted e-commerce platform.”

“We are pleased to be expanding our automotive portfolio by working with one of the largest automotive brands such as Bosch,” said Alessandro Piscini, Chief Executive Officer of Lazada Thailand.“Through a collaboration with Bosch, we are expanding our portfolio of automotive products to cater to the DIY (do-it-yourself) motorist and car enthusiast segments.”

Lazada is one of the largest e-commerce platform across Asia, and is ranked top in terms of monthly B2C web traffic in Thailand according to ecommerceIQ, a Southeast Asian market research portal focused on online retail.

“Our bestselling products thus far are wiper blades because of their performance, durability, and ease of installation. We will continue to expand our portfolio of online offerings to consumers, including Bosch Car Service vehicle maintenance packages in the near future.” said Mr. Kuldhaj Bunbongkarn

In Southeast Asia, Bosch’s automotive spare parts are available at its official stores on Lazada in Thailand as well as the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia.
