Smart Driver Contest 2022, was organized to celebrate the 60 th anniversary of its business in
Thailand. The winners received the H.R.H Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's Trophy and
prizes worth more than 700,000 baht. The event was held at the TPRO Training Center,
Chachoengsao province.
Hino Motors Sales (Thailand) Ltd. organized the 4 th Hino Smart Driver Contest 2022 to find the best truck drivers to receive the H.R.H Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Trophy and
prizes worth more than 700,000 baht. This year, the contest is more special than ever as it is an
opportunity for the company to celebrate the 60 th anniversary of its business in Thailand.
This year's contest and opening ceremony were held on October 1, 2022, at the TPRO
Training Center, Chachoengsao province. The event was honored by Ms.Sirirat Veeravisan,
Deputy director-general Department of Land Transport and Mr.Apichart Prai-rung-ruang,
Chairman of the Land Transport Federation of Thailand to be the chairman of the opening
ceremony. There were also many business partners who provided support.
Mr. Ken Iwamoto, President of Hino Motors Sales (Thailand) Ltd., said that for three
years the company has not met with the best Hino truck drivers. It is a time of many changes in
work life and health care due to COVID-19 outbreak. For us to return to life in a new normal
and to celebrate the special occasion of Hino's 60 th anniversary in Thailand, Hino, as a leader in
the truck industry, has continued its policy of improving vehicle quality along with the quality
of life of drivers. Hino Smart Driver Contest is a search for the best drivers with all-round
qualities including knowledge of engines, tact, driving skills, traffic rules, as well as social and
environmental responsibility so that transportation industry in Thailand can bring happiness to
people all over the country.
Hino has planned to improve the contest even further. This year, the contest format
has been adjusted, and the trucks used in the contest are as close to the social conditions
of Thailand as possible. The contest was divided into 2 categories: 1) 4-wheel trucks and
2) 10-wheel trucks, semi-trailers with 4 bases, which are the indicators of those who are
qualified as the best truck drivers. Most importantly, it is considered the highest honor for the
company, the transportation industry, and all the drivers as the winners from the event
received the H.R.H Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's Trophy.
Hino drivers in the contest not only need the skills to drive but also need to be
conscious and responsible for other drivers. The Hino Smart Driver Contest is different from
any other truck contests in Thailand by emphasizing safety and the proper use of the truck to
