Bangkok – 8 August 2022 - SAIC Motor-CP and MG Sales (Thailand), the manufacturer and distributor of MG cars in Thailand, launches the NEW MG VS HEV, the company’s first hybrid sport SUV which will become a change-maker in the B-SUV market. Under the “ABSOLUTE” concept, the NEW MG VS HEV is true to its identity, breaking all the barriers of hybrid driving with highly advanced design language from the exterior to the passenger cabin. Packed with full-option features and facilities as well as European-standard safety systems, the model is now available for booking and test drive at 158 MG showrooms countrywide.
Created under the “ABSOLUTE” concept, the NEW MG VS HEV is an embodiment of “perfection”, starting from the exterior design featuring Electrified Matrix Grille Design which gives a sporty and modern look, automatic LED Projector headlamps with DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT, LED rear lamps and 17-inch alloy wheels with AERO WHEEL COVER to reduce wind resistance. For the first time in the B-SUV segment, the NEW MG VS HEV comes with Dual Widescreen Cockpit with two 12.3-inch dual screens, ILLUMINATED TOUCH PANEL, and DOUBLE LAYER center console. The Modern & Stylish passenger cabin is also luxuriously decorated with PIANO BLACK materials, genuine leather steering wheel, LASER PATTERN gear lever as well as a storage compartment with TYPE C and TYPE A USB connectivity ports.
In terms of technology, the NEW MG VS HEV features a new electric transmission system with an Electric Shift gear lever which allows three driving mode: Eco, Comfort, and Sport. The hybrid system is equipped with 3-level KERS MODE, an automotive system for recovering a moving vehicle's kinetic energy under braking. The model also comes with 12.3-inch HD smart Full Virtual Dashboard and Navigation mode which displays navigated routes alongside the 12.3-inch Touch Screen connected to the i-SMART operating system and Apple CarPlay. The ability to play multimedia contents from an Android smartphone is also available via JOOX music application.
In terms of comfort, this hybrid sport SUV pays attention to each and every driver and passenger seats. With spacious cabin room, the NEW MG VS HEV comes with a panoramic sunroof, an electric adjustable driver seat, and a wireless charger while back-seat passengers have their own air conditioning vents and USB connectivity ports. Also available are 60:40 foldable back seats to increase storage space.
In terms of performance and safety, the NEW MG VS HEV upgrades its driving capabilities with VTi-TECH 4-cylinder, 16-valve benzine engine, an electric motor that gives a maximum power of 177 horsepower as well as an E-CVT automatic transmission system. To ensure ultimate safety for all passengers, the model is also packed with 12 SYNCHRONIZED PROTECTION SYSTEMS including Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Brake Assist (EBA), Stability Control System (SCS), Curve Brake Control (CBC), Traction Control System (TCS), Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) and Auto Vehicle Hold (AVH), plus surround-view HD cameras, ISOFIX car seat fitting system, Immobilizer car key, back sensors as well as front and side airbags with curtain airbags.
The NEW MG VS HEV is available in two models: the D and X. The interior of the D model is available in black while there are three body colors to choose from: Arctic White, Black Knight, and Scarlet Red. The X model is available both in monotone and two-tone styles. The monotone design features all-black interior and three body colors: Arctic White, Black Knight, and Scarlet Red. The two-tone look comes with black-and-white interior decoration and three body colors: Mineral Green, Metal Ash Grey, and Arctic White.

The NEW MG VS HEV is now available for booking and test drive at 158 MG showrooms nationwide. The car is expected to be delivered to customers by the end of August.
