Thailand is ready for the high-octane, world-class motorcycle racing championship with Round 15 of PTT Thailand Grand Prix
2019 on 4-6 October at Chang International Circuit, Buriram as both Thai and International motorsports anticipate the
competition with Thailand hosting the event for the second time.
On Wednesday, September 18, The Ministry of Tourism and Sports, together with The Sports Authority of Thailand; Buriram
Provincial Administration Organization; PTT Oil and Retail Business PCL (PTTOR); The Department of Land Transport; Thai
Beverage PCL; A.P Honda Co., Ltd; Thai Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd; Siam Commercial Bank PCL, Grab Taxi (Thailand) Co., Ltd; Plan B
Media PCL; and Chang International Circuit Buriram, held a press conference to announce their readiness to host PTT Thailand
Grand Prix with three weeks left before the biggest motorcycle racing championship revs into action in Thailand.
The highlight of the press conference was the unveiling of the new PTT Thailand Grand Prix 2019 trophy, which is one of the
most important elements of the MotoGP championship in Thailand. The design concept was carried from last year which
resembles ornate Thai temple doors, symbolizing Thailand’s warm invitation to first-time visitors to the Kingdom. This year’s
trophy will embody the identity of Buriram, combining its unique characteristics as a province with the spirit of MotoGP.
The base of the trophy is designed to resemble stone, with the colors and texture similar to laterite used in the construction of Phanom Rung Stone Castle, which is carved into the iconic MotoGP checkered pattern. The top of the base is designed according to the unique track outline of Chang International Circuit that is not found anywhere else in the world. The beautiful Thai numerals engraved on the trophy were inspired by Thai flowers, expressing the thrill of victory for the champion in Thailand.
“On behalf of the Tourism and Sports Ministry, we are proud that Thailand is hosting a world-class tournament again this year,
allowing Thais to experience the thrill of a premier motorcycle racing championship from the grandstand and see world-class
riders in person. Last week, a team inspected the readiness of the racetrack, as well as the telecom infrastructure for land, air,
and rail. I would like to reassure everyone that Thailand is 100% ready to host MotoGP “PTT Thailand Grand Prix 2019,”
said Dr.Gongsak Yodmani, Governor of Sports Authority of Thailand.
“To accommodate the hundreds of thousands of fans flocking to Buriram, we have raised standards to maximize convenience across the board. These improvements are aimed at raising the standards to accommodate every visitor to the best of our efficiency”
“There are no concerns on the racetrack as the Chang International Circuit management team is highly experienced in world-
class motorsport events. The management team listened to the feedback from fans and turned problems into solutions. I also
visited the OTOP Ban Nonsawan Village Homestay in Buriram’s Ban Dan district, which joined in the effort to help improve
accommodation for motorsport fans. The locals of Buriram are ready to welcome guests with open arms and will create a
lasting friendly impression on tourists from around the world. Tourists and motorsports fans are guaranteed to have an

saying “the track is in top condition and primed for competition. We have received advice from the Federation of International
Motorcycling (FIM), as well as feedback from spectators, which we applied to make improvements from the first time when we
hosted the race. The sidestands have been improved to be stronger, safer and more convenient. The sidestands now offer
better visibility of the action on the racetrack. I am confident that attendees will enjoy the incredible spectacle from every
vantage point in Chang International Circuit during PTT Thailand Grand Prix. I would like to invite Thai motorsport fans to come
