The Jeep Wrangler is a blank canvas for off-road enthusiasts. Florida-based Bruiser Conversions has turned the dial up a few notches with a six-wheeled, V8-powered Wrangler Unlimited.
The conversion involved stretching the Wrangler’s frame and adding a custom-fabricated, pickup truck-like bed behind the cab. The extra sheet metal clears up space for a pair of Ford-sourced axles with 4.88 gears, according to Motor Authority. It also gives the Wrangler considerably more cargo capacity.
Don’t look for a Pentastar V6 under the hood. Power now comes from a Chevrolet-sourced LS3 V8 engine rated at 450 horsepower. It’s the same 6.2-liter unit that powers the fifth-generation Camaro SS and the C6 Corvette. Bruiser hasn’t released performance specifications. They’re probably not jaw-dropping given the rig’s weight but we bet it’s no slouch, either.
We can count the number of components with a Jeep parts number on one hand. The rest of the modifications include 40-inch tires wrapped around 17-inch beadlock wheels, suspension components sourced from Fox, and an array of visual add-ons like a metal front bumper with a winch, wider mirrors, and a light bar over the windshield.
Bruiser hasn’t revealed how much the conversion costs, but it’s likely quite a bit cheaper than the Mercedes-Benz G63 6×6 AMG and the Kahn’s Defender-based Flying Huntsman.
