2018 BMW 4 Series-A variety of engines are available, all with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology.

Although it is visually similar to the outgoing model, the BMW 4 Series has received a mostly technical refresh for the 2018 model year that involves about 2500 new and updated parts.

The mechanical upgrades include quicker antilock brake actuators to give the car better control during hard braking and shorten braking distances. The Coupes and Gran Coupes have a stiffer suspension, with improved lateral and longitudinal dynamics while maintaining the ride quality of the earlier model.

Actual visual changes include new front and rear lighting, with adaptive full LED lighting replacing the Xenon lights used on the earlier model. A new front fascia with modified air intakes and a new rear apron are all new. Two new colors available exclusively for the 4 Series are Sunset Orange and Snapper Rocks Blue. On the interior, the steering wheels is nappa leather and a little thicker than the outgoing model.

A variety of engines are available, all with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. The 420i features a 2 liter 4 cylinder with an output of 184 hp, though it won’t be available in the United States. The 430i also uses a 2 liter 4 cylinder, but with a much more substantial output of 252 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The 440i is the most powerful non-M car, with a 3 liter six-cylinder putting out 326 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. The base M4 produces 425 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, and the Competition package comes with a moderate increase to 444 hp.
