2018 Chevrolet Corvette Carbon 65 Edition

In January 17th, 1953, General Motors introduced the EX122 Corvette concept car to the world at GM Motorama at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. Public enthusiasm for the sleek two seater was high enough that before the year was out, the car had gone into production and 300 largely hand-built Corvettes were sold.

All these years later, and the Chevrolet Corvette is still going strong. For the 2018 model year, Chevrolet will commemorate the model’s 65 year anniversary with the Carbon 65 Edition, the name coming from the parts with a visible carbon fiber grain. That includes the hood section, ground effects, side view mirrors, and rear spoiler. The Coupe has a carbon fiber roof and quarter intake ducts, while the Convertible has carbon fiber tonneau inserts.

The interior features a Jet Black suede interior with blue stitching, along with carbon fiber interior trim, including on the steering wheel rim. Lightweight Competition Sport seats are also included, along with Carbon 65 Edition sill plates.

Production is limited to 650 examples, and it is available on the naturally aspirated Grand Sport 3LT and supercharged Z06 3LZ models. Cost of the package is $15,000.
