The refresh also introduces a long list of comfort and convenience enhancements.

General Motors has detailed several improvements for the 2019 Chevrolet Volt.

Headlining the new features, an optional 7.2 kW charging system supports double the energy transfer compared to the current Volt. The battery can be completely recharged in as little as 2.3 hours via a 240-volt outlet.

The company has changed its automatic engine-assisted heating system, enabling drivers to use battery power alone in temperatures as low as 13 degrees F.

The refreshed Volt also introduces new regenerative braking profiles, increasing recharging capability when a driver lets off the accelerator pedal.

On the inside, the car gets a new Chevy Infotainment 3 system with an eight-inch touchscreen, a new digital rearview camera, tire-fill alerts, and a driver-switchable adaptive cruise control system.

The 2019 Volt is scheduled to go on sale this fall.
