We have good news if you’re hoping to get a discount on the Lamborghini Urus. China-based automaker Huansu has released an Urus-like crossover that starts in the vicinity of $15,000.
We wouldn’t go as far as calling the Huansu C60 a clone but several styling cues draw inspiration from Lamborghini’s recently-introduced SUV. The angular shape of the front end, for example, which is accented by sharp lights and a wide grille. The vents chiseled into the front fenders are cribbed from the Urus. Out back, the lights with Y-shaped inserts look Lamborghini-esque, too.
Huansu couldn’t use a twin-turbocharged V8, though. Motor1 reports the C60 comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 195 horsepower, a 455-horse drop compared to the Urus. Transmission options and performance specifications will be released in the coming days.
The Huansu (a name which translates to “Magic Speed”) C60 will arrive in showrooms on June 6. Pricing ranges between $15,000 and $24,000. In comparison, the Urus starts at approximately $200,000 before buyers pile on options.
CarNewsChina adds the Huansu C60 is the work of a joint-venture owned by the Yinxiang Motorcycle Group and BAIC, a large state-owned company whose other joint ventures include one with Daimler called Beijing-Benz. The C60 will be primarily sold so-called second- and third-tier cities in China, meaning it’s not aimed at urbanites in Shanghai and Beijing.
