Confirming recent speculation, Mazda has announced plans to reveal the next-generation Mazda3 in Los Angeles.
The all-new car is said to adopt a more mature interpretation of the company’s Kodo design language. Previous reports point to the Kai concept as the inspiration for the production Mazda3.
Aside from its revised design language, the new Mazda3 also promises to improve performance attributes thanks to Mazda’s latest Skyactiv-Vehicle Architecture and powertrain technologies. A new Skyactiv-X engine is expected to significantly increase both torque and fuel efficiency.
A teaser photo accompanying the announcement suggests Mazda will reveal both the sedan and hatchback variants at the LA show, with a debut presumably scheduled for November 28.
