Mazda flies in VISION COUPE concept from Japan to Thailand featuring futuristic automotive design

Mazda is following up on the buzz created at the recent MAZDA ASEAN DESIGN FORUM 2018, where Thailand was given the honor to host the important global design event for the first time in the Asean region. It was the first time that the total design philosophy was explained in an unprecedented move. And today, Mazda has brought the VISION COUPE to the public at the Motor Expo, allowing Thais to witness the elegant and powerful lines that lead to the design of the 7th generation Mazda in the near future.

Mr. Chanchai Trakarnudomsuk, President of Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co. Ltd., said, “All of us are proud that Thailand was chosen to host one of ASEAN’s largest design forums, which also helps the Thai economy and automobile sales. With continuous growth, the Thai automobile market is expected to break the 1-million-unit mark this year, and the growth is higher than many had anticipated at the start of the year. For Mazda during the period of January to October, we have sold 57,402 vehicles, registering a growth rate of 43 per cent and a market share of 6.9 per cent. We expect to deliver 65,000 units in this year.”

According to Mr. Chanchai, factors that will enable Mazda to achieve its goal include strong response from customers, brand-building, unique marketing, along with outstanding design, modern technology and fun-to-drive character of Mazda vehicles. “We should be able to reach our target without difficulty,” he added.

The MAZDA VISION COUPE has been flown in from Japan for the Thai public. It will help communicate the new Mazda design philosophy for the new generation of models to be introduced in the near future. SUSTAINABLE ZOOM-ZOOM 2030 is Mazda’s approach to developing new technologies that are eco-friendly. While the world is giving more interest to EVs (electric vehicles), Mazda sees the importance of using clean electricity, reflected in our “well-to-wheel” ideology to effectively reduce carbon dioxide levels. At the same time Mazda still strives to develop engines and drive systems with Hybrid and EV technologies, Connectivity, and is determined in perfecting the internal combustion engine along with offering the latest safety features.

Mr. Thee Permpongpanth, Vice President for Marketing and Government Affairs, said, “Since the start of the year, Mazda has embarked on a strategy to establish long-term relationship with customers. We started with showroom improvement as well as expanding the showroom network to cover more markets. The new showrooms will create a good first impression and customers will want to come in to use our services. We also created the Mazda digital platform for both online and offline, as well as an INTEGRATED DIGITAL EXPRERIENCE both in and out of the showroom. In addition, we also raised the bar with the MAZDA ACTIV SERVICE to take care of the customers from the first step until it is time to purchase a new vehicle.”

“All these improvements has helped sales of Mazda vehicles to soar continuously and at the Motor Expo which is considered as the last corner of the year, we expect customers will help drive Mazda sales to reach our targets,” he said. In mid-November, the MAZDA ASEAN DESIGN FORUM was highly successful, and a large number of inquiries were made regarding the concept vehicles exhibited. As a matter of fact Mazda has decided to show the VISION COUPE at this year’s Motor Expo as well.

“Mazda expects a large turn-up at our booth and in order to thank our customers, we will offer the ‘Mazda Lover above every surprise’ campaign “MAZDA LOVER” which kicked off on November 7 and lasts until the final day of the Motor Expo with 0-per cent interest and free first-class insurance for every model,” Mr. Thee added.
