Mazda joins in conserving and restoring the Thai marine environment by mobilizing the ‘ONE MAZDA ONE TEAM’ employees in mangrove planting for a sustainable earth


Bangkok, Thailand – 21 November 2023 – Mazda Sales Thailand collaborates as a part of environmental conservation and sustainability initiatives, engaging 125 employees to participate in conservation and restoration efforts along the seaside areas at Kitjakarn Nueng Khlong Song Changwat, a conservational tourist attraction supervised by Royal Thai Naval Air Division.

This is the activity under the ‘ONE MAZDA ONE TEAM: the united effort to plant trees for a sustainable earth’ that Mazda are united to establish mangrove forests and restored the coastal ecosystem, aligning with the significant mission towards Carbon Neutrality. This initiative underlines Mazda’s commitment to bring about a beautiful earth for future generations, elevates the quality of life and promotes a sustainable society, as embodied the Sustainable Zoom-Zoom 2030 strategy—a fundamental guideline consistently upheld by Mazda in Thailand and globally.”

The activity ‘ONE MAZDA ONE TEAM: the united effort to plant trees for a sustainable earth’ initiated from the mutual efforts of Mazda Sales Thailand employees who aimed to give back positive contributions to nature by conserving and restoring the seaside environment, ensuring a fresher atmosphere. This involved a journey to Kitjakarn Nueng Khlong Song Changwat, a conservational tourist attraction supervised by Royal Thai Naval Air Division. The initiative focused on planting mangrove and cleaning the surrounding beaches, contributing to environmental conservation efforts along the seashore with a recognition of the vital role mangrove forests play in maintaining the balance of ecosystems along seaside areas as they serve as crucial habitats and food sources for diverse plant and animal species. Mangroves also absorb wastewater from communities before it reaches the sea, act as barriers against erosion, protect against wind and natural disasters, and serve as a fishing ground for seaside communities. They provide foods and breeding grounds for marine animals, produce oxygen and reduce the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere. This promotes environmental balance and has positive economic effects for the local community. This activity contributed significantly to the sustainability of society.
