Mazda make global golf tournament ‘Mazda AJGA’ A Pathway to Pro Golf from U.S. to Thailand for the first time ever


Bangkok, Thailand – April 11, 2024 – Mazda’s renowned for its dedication to enhancing enrich life-in-motion, has partnered with The Agency Recruiter, experts in helping aspiring athletes secure U.S. sports college scholarships, to bring the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) to Thailand for the first time. The championship aims to provide young golfers with an opportunity to showcase their talent in the U.S., potentially opening the doors to professional golf careers on the international stage.

Mr. Thee Permpongpanth, Senior Vice President of Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd., remarked, “The MAZDA AJGA Thailand Junior Championship offers aspiring golfers, both boys and girls youth, a step closer to achieving their dream of competing professionally on the global stage. Winners will earn exemption spots in several U.S. tournaments during the summer, where leading university coaches scout for talent.”

Established since 1978, the AJGA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing young golfers and helping them secure college scholarships through competitive junior golf.

Regarded as the premier junior golf tournament globally, the AJGA serves as a pathway for aspiring PGA, LPGA, and college players. Its track record includes grooming successful professional golfers like Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, Nelly Korda, Lexi Thompson, and Thai golfer Pro “Patty” Paphangkorn Tavatanakit, sister of Jutanugarn’s family; Mo-Moriya and May-Ariya Jutanugarn.

The MAZDA AJGA THAILAND CHAMPIONSHIP, the first of its kind in Thailand, will be held at the Lotus Valley Golf Resort in Chacheongsao province from May 3-5, 2024. This prestigious event, open to 132 players worldwide, is supported by leading global brands, including Rolex, Adidas, and TaylorMade.

This opportunity is not exclusive to Mazda customers; anyone with a passion for golf can sign up for a chance to compete. Registration is free, and selected participants will be announced on April 24th, 2024, via Mazda’s official website and Facebook page.
