Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Thailand Ltd. is a 100% subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz Thailand Ltd. and consequently Mercedes-Benz Group AG.

We cooperate in Thailand with our long-term partner, Thonburi Automotive Assembly Plant Ltd., for more than four decades. We are producing Mercedes-Benz passenger cars in Bangkok, Thailand for 46 years, serving mainly the Thai market. In 2022 export under ASEAN free trade agreement to Vietnam has started. Further export opportunities are being constantly investigated.

The model range covers 13 different cars lines from A-Class, C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, GLA, GLC, GLE, GLS, C-Coupe, GLC-Coupe, CLS, Maybach S-Class, to the EQS. The production concept called CKD (Completely Knocked Down) enables us with resource-efficient and high manufacturing capabilities to produce a high variety of car lines in parallel and ensures our flexibility to adapt on market demands.

On the drive train we are offering all existing types from combustion engines (gasoline and diesel), Plug-in Hybrid and full battery electric vehicles. Our first BEV, an EQS, was introduced in 2022 into local production, being the first OEM in Thailand to produce BEV. Together with our partner Thonburi, in their battery plant nearby, we have been producing HV batteries with them since 2019. Today we have integrated the third and fourth generation of Mercedes-Benz HV-batteries.

The highly skilled operators are trained to manufacture different car lines in a highly manual production process. This training process is developed over many decades and include trainings abroad and within Thailand and one of our core competences to produce Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

The business model is derived from different local requirements focusing on the creation of local value added. With full-scale local production, including body shop, paint shop, and battery assembly, along with the localization of various components, we are able to fulfill such requirements.
