Bangkok – 11 March 2024 – SAIC Motor-CP and MG Sales (Thailand), manufacturer and distributor of MG cars in Thailand, raise the curtain for the EV market in 2024 and celebrate the successful sales volume and accolade of MG4 ELECTRIC by launching MG4 XPOWER, the company’s pure electric hot hatch that promises MG standards and unparalleled driving experience. The 4WD
is equipped with a dual motor setup which can produce a maximum of 435 hp while can accelerate from 0-100 km/h within only 3.8 seconds. Packed with full functions, MG4 XPOWER is going to make its Thailand premiere at a special event named ‘MG Everyday Electric’ which will run from 13th to 19th March at Promotion Hall, Central Ladprao and official price announcement will be made on 25th March at the 45th Bangkok International Motor Show.
MG4 ELECTRIC is the company’s global EV model that receives positive feedbacks from EV users worldwide. Having been crowned the best model both domestically and internationally, MG4 ELECTRIC has a total sales volume of over 140,000 units globally covering the market in Europe, Australia as well as in Thailand where over 7,000 units have been sold. This year, MG4 ELECTRIC is also considered the company’s strategic model that is sure to paint a more vibrant market landscape and ensure superiority in order to drive Thailand’s automotive industry to the next level, with MG4 XPOWER as the new EV experience.
MG4 XPOWER is a “truly EV powertrain” outstanding in various aspects including its NEBULA PURE ELECTRIC PLATFORM on which the model is exclusively developed. The 4WD EV Hot Hatch comes with a dual motor setup which can produce 435 hp (320 kW) of peak output and a peak torque of 600 Nm, being able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h within only 3.8 seconds. The model also features a Rubik’s Cube Battery with estimated capacity of 64 kWh which can give an estimated NEDC range of 480 km on one full charge. Besides, MG4 ELECTRIC is also outstanding for its symmetric 50:50 weight distribution and low center of gravity, McPherson Strut independent front suspension and 5-Link independent rear suspension to minimize vibration from road surface and maximize traction. With One Pedal system, the model offers a more convenient driving experience and a more stable estimated driving range. The 23 ADVANCED SYNCHRONIZED PROTECTION SYSTEMS also ensure ultimate safety for all passengers. With sporty exterior design, MG4 XPOWER is available in the new Wild Hunter Green body color and a two-tone Blacktop roof, 18-inch alloy wheels and bright orange brake caliper. The cabin is decorated in all black with some premium sport elements including a synthetic leather-Alcantara composite for upholsteries. The model also features i–SMART functions as well as Intelligent Smart Access, a new feature where drivers can start the vehicle by just pushing down break paddle.
