Ministry of Transport and THAI Bid Farewell to Seven British Cave Divers


Mr. Arkhom Termpittayapaisith, Minister of Transport, along with Mr. Weerasak Kowsurat, Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, Deputy Transport Minister, H.E. Mr. Brian John Davidson, British Ambassador to Thailand, Mrs. Usanee Sangsingkeo, Acting President, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), and Mr. Siroj Duangrat, Director, Suvarnabhumi Airport, Airports of Thailand, and members of THAI Management, together showed their appreciation to cave diving experts for successful rescue efforts and bid farewell upon their departure to London on board THAI’s flight. The British cave diving experts were Mr. Richard William Stanton, Mr. Christopher Jewell, Mr. Michael John Clayton, Mr. Gary Mitchell, Mr. Connor Stuart Roe, Mr. Jim Warny, and Mr. Joshua Brian Bratchley.

THAI provided roundtrip tickets from London-Bangkok to cave diving experts from the British Cave Rescue Council, United Kingdom, and helped transport their rescue equipment. Seven British Cave Divers were part of the rescue team who helped to search and find 13 members of a youth football team who were trapped inside the Kun Nam Nang Non Cave in Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai province. Upon arrival at London Heathrow Airport, the cave divers received a warm welcome and were presented souvenirs from THAI.
