Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Hosts 19th Annual Skills Contest Aiming for Excellence


Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd. hosted the Mitsubishi Motors Skills Contest 2018 themed “Aim for Excellence” to promote personnel competency enhancement among its dealers striving for greater sales and aftersales service quality.

“The annual skills contest is one of the core programs under Mitsubishi Motors Thailand’s people development. It proves to be a great platform for our staff from dealer network nationwide to showcase their proficiencies and skills. This inspires our people to “Aim for Excellence” rewarding in customer satisfaction. Last year, we earned the favorable ranking results of no. 2 in Customer Service Index (CSI) and no. 4 in Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) by J.D. Power 2018 Thailand studies. Such an activity will help maintaining our upward trajectory in customer services,” Mr. Morikazu Chokki, President and CEO, Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd. said during the contest opening ceremony at the Education Academy.

Education Academy officially inaugurated in June 2018 is Mitsubishi Motors Thailand’s linchpin in providing enhancement to its people for the best product and the best services. In fiscal year 2018, more than 600 training sessions were conducted for more than 14,000 participants.

In collaboration with its dealer network nationwide, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand has conducted the annual contest for 19 consecutive years. This year, 64 finalists competed in 6 categories of Sales Consultant, Customer Relations Officer, Troubleshooting Technician, Periodic Maintenance Technician, Service Advisor, and Parts Staff Officer. The winners from the 19th annual contest stand the chance to represent Mitsubishi Motors Thailand at the Global Service Skills Contest hosted biannually in Japan by Mitsubishi Motors Corporation. The latest one was held in February 2019 which Education Academy sponsored 2 Thai contestants achieving the first runner up position in Periodic Maintenance Technician category and the third runner up position in Service Advisor category.

Moreover, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand also held a competition for students under the Vocational School Support Project (VSSP) which has been run continuously by Mitsubishi Motors Thailand to provide educational and career opportunity to vocational program students.
