Super Cruise to expand to all Cadillacs, other GM brands
The rollout will start in 2020.
Cadillac has announced plans to expand its Super Cruise hands-free driving system to every model in its lineup. Cadillac says the rollout will begin in 2020.
The Super Cruise system is currently only available on the 2018 Cadillac CT6 sedan, but that will change within the next 18 months. In addition to the planned rollout for the Cadillac brand, GM says it will expand the technology to its other brands — which include Chevrolet, GMC and Buick — starting in 2020. However, the automaker didn’t specify which brands or models would be the first to receive Super Cruise.
Additionally, Cadillac says it will introduce a high-volume crossover with V2X technology in 2023. Cadillac introduced V2V technology on the CTS sedan last year, and V2X will take that system a step farther. In addition to being able to communicate with other vehicles on the road, the 2023 Cadillac crossover will also be able to communicate with surrounding infrastructure for information on things like hazardous road conditions and upcoming construction zones.
