GERMAN ART OF ENGINEERING: The Mercedes-AMG GT by LUETHEN MOTORSPORT

Born with a good measure of racing DNA, the Mercedes-AMG GT is extremely sporty and dynamic out of the box. Now, German based tuner LUETHEN MOTORSPORT has infused even more performance into AMG’s finest.
The enhanced character is apparent even from a distance, with the bespoke LUETHEN MOTORSPORT SERIES-1 10.0×20 and 11.0×21-inch (optionally 12.0×21-inch) forged alloy wheels clearly filling out the wheel arches. Apart from a range of standard colour options, these wheels can also be personalised with the clients’ choice of colour to sample and surface finish.
Shod with 265/30ZR20 front and 305/25ZR21 (325/25ZR21 on the 12.0×21 wheels) Pilot Super Sport tyres from development partner Michelin, the wider track and lowered ride height give this car its more hunkered down and purposeful appearance.
The ride height reduction comes from LUETHEN MOTORSPORT sport springs, which are recommended for owners who mostly drive their vehicles on the road. “Our adjustable sport springs and the factory dampers make a good combination or fast road and the occasional track day,” says Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Markus Lüthen. “These sport springs are calibrated to work within the performance envelope of the factory active damping system so the driver can adjust the ride height without worrying about matching.”

The LUETHEN MOTORSPORT carbon-fibre aerodynamic styling kit is made from the highest quality carbon-fibre-reinforced plastics and has full TÜV-approval.
As well as looking good, every aero component has a practical function. The front spoiler lip with integrated splitter and boundary layer winglets, and the adjustable rear wing and underbody diffuser are the most obvious components that give the car its track-oriented persona, and generate significant additional downforce over the front and rear axles. The brows over the front air intakes enhance the ram airflow to the coolers, while the side sills clean up airflow down the cars flanks for improved ground effect.
The customer also has a wide range of finishes to choose from for these carbon-fibre parts, with coarse to fine weave in gloss or matt finishes on offer. Colours other than black are possible using colour-dyed fibres.
Enhanced performance is also on the LUETHEN MOTORSPORT tuning menu, with the additional engine control unit providing up to 612 hp and 780 Nm of torque, topped off by an electronically limited 330 km/h Vmax.
LUETHEN MOTORSPORT has two new projects in the pipeline, to be presented next spring. These are the BMW M4 and Mercedes-AMG C63, for which LUETHEN MOTORSPORT tuning packages similar to the Mercedes-AMG GT one are being developed.
